im trying hard to to find positives. i am trying to find a reason to go watch this in the theatre. but so far i got nothing. sallu just looks stiff. he looks constipated.

I miss pre-Wanted Salman. That charm he had doing Kiyon kii or Mujhse shaadi karogi or actions like Tumko na bhul bhul payenge or Bandhan is unforgettable. It-s sad to see him getting old but not playing age appropriate roles. He can still do action and romance like many aged actors worldwide but he is somehow looks odd on whatever he is trying to bring on screen.

Yawn. The first teaser at least had good music. Salman should give up on whatever he-s trying to do.

Okay, so I just watched the new Sikandar song "Bam Bam Bhole" that dropped today (March 11, 2025), and I can’t stop thinking about this one scene—Salman Khan crying while looking at Rashmika Mandanna. It’s giving me major emotional vibes, and I’ve got a theory: what if Rashmika’s character dies earlier in the movie, and this whole Holi sequence is Salman imagining her?Hear me out. The teaser already had some heavy emotional moments (like that train scene), and now in "Bam Bam Bhole," Salman’s got tears in his eyes while dancing with Rashmika. It feels like he’s seeing her in his head, not like she’s actually there. Some fans on X are saying the same thing—maybe her death is the big twist, and this song is him reminiscing or hallucinating. "Bloody & Brutal sequences" That-s the thing I said I-m tired of in these new movies from the last 5+ years. Yes seeing the trailer I got Action vibes from it. But I prefer my action to be more like KICK or Ek Tha Tiger. More thought out chase sequences, using the environment, & classy stylization. Instead nowadays we only get gruesome, gandhey feeling, completely over serious not fun looks. Was already worried I would not be interested at all in more of Salman-s upcoming movies for 2025 but it looks like that-s the case with this one. Hoping KICK 2 will bring back that fun action instead of this ridiculous style.

Salman has transcended the rat race. He will always be the superstar, and his loyal fanbase will make sure that none of his movies are loss makers

Khan-s are kinda immune. Look at Aamir or SRK. Aamir last well received movie was Dangal in 2016. ToH and LSC both received criticism and didn-t do much at the box office. But audience still remain excited for his next. Same when SRK had a rough patch between 2016-23. He still have Tiger v Pathaan for big box office impact. Big names will survive easily, even AK after numerous failure have it easy.

Bhoi stopped caring loonnggg back. The way they are rushing for eid release says it all. They don-t care about the quality. Eid release would guarantee 300 crores. That-s the goal.

This is what superstardom is , despite flops KHANs don-t lose their loyal fanbase . The younger lot just cannot replicate it . They-ll need really really good scripts and stories to survive in this industry.

That is not applicable to megastars like Salman. SRK too had a dry run from 2016 to 2019, his career obituaries were written but he just made his presence felt roaringly in 2023. Salman and SRK are those megastars where they don-t need to prove anything to anyone anymore, Do or Die can never be for them. I feel he neglects his health and his Trigeminal Neuralgia also must have a role to play in him not looking his best. It cause facial weakness along with many other side effects. He also tends to ping pong with his weight which is def not good for skin and he sleeps so less and is always travelling. He has such a close knit family, why is someone from them not taking charge? UNDERWHELMING. Nothing stands out. WEAK BGM Look of the character/bhai - basic Dialogues mundane and that “saaf kardunga “ etc. was more like a badass Ravikumar stye dialogue. Action is bland. Last shot was taken sorta nicely but that gave me salaar vibes. Song visuals also sort of nothing special. Rashmika looked cute for the 1 Shot they gave her. In the end there is actually nothing to harshly criticise coz nothing stands out neither positively nor negatively.. its just there it exists meh. Might be nostalgia - ETT was being played near me at almost all times (I was in high school), and the hype felt more organic than the kind you see around atm. I really wanted a good decent film for Bhoi to come out after the entire wig and dance saga in KKBKKJ. Honestly, the costume/stylist should be given some good gyan! Yaar, this same open shirt! In Bhajrangi Bhaijaan, he had such nice half sleeve kurtas. Even if it is a shirt, there are so many nice ones. Honestly, I wish the stylist had done better.

It-s a poorly made movie. After knowing Neeraj Pandey for making movies like A Wednesday, he has clearly lost the knack for good stories and screenplay. Cinematography and camera angles was probably the worst thing about this movie. My guess is this was pretty low budget and he didn-t get to work with the people he usually does.

This movie is 60 min too long! Anybody else thinking that the Open ended climax will result in a part 2 for this? I sincerely believe that-s what motivated the director. Part 2 should resolve this problem after director sees this sub 😂😂😂😂

I didn-t think it was that bad. Clearly, Sikandar is a sociopath. He views relationships for what they can do for him. Still, I had hope that he truly loved Kamini. She was forced to help Jaswinder, but she loved him deeply. I was sad to see him leave her. Also, what was up with Kayashalya or whatever her name was, Jaswinder-s ex wife. She looked like she was going to burst out laughing in every scene she was in.

Inspector could have easily checked CCTV for previous days and find out that Sikander had a word with the security and followed him. That-s proof enough for removing other two from the list of suspects. And waiting 15 years is too very long for an Inspector with 100% Track Record.

i felt like the movie was unreal and left many questions unanswered. like why did sikandar even marry kamini? did he even like her? was their marriage real or did it serve some other purpose? what led to inspector jaswinder-s downfall exactly? why was sikandar so real about his pretend sorrows, dude lost his job, his house, his wife was in the hospital, children on the street, how could he possibly not sell the diamonds... its unreal that he never loved kamini or his step son.. his emotions were so real the entire time.. what was priya-s story? why did kamini lie about her 4yr job experience? why was there no proof against sikandar? i-m sure they couldve found smthng.. it-s not like it was a super big brain crime and if priya was always in, why was she asking sikandar questions like "why are they keeping u in etc" they were alone, no one was watching i mean cmon

In the end I wanted to tell the two men, just kiss already! You-ve already obsessed about each other for 15 years!

Not bad at all. Actually watching a Hindi film in its entirety without fast forwarding in a long time. True there are some glitches but overall, watchable. The romance was beautiful. Overall execution was gripping till the end. The ending could have a bit more crisper and quicker, particularly when Sikandar-s story is being told.

I’m the only one who liked this movie? It was a moving journey, and the twist was well thought out.

The movie is a heist - of viewers’ time and energy. What makes it worse is it gives you the impression that theres some really clever suspense that will be revealed at the end, but ends in the most predictable and unsatisfying manner. It starts off great, and keeps going downhill, hitting rock bottom at the end. Could have done a much better job with the storyline and execution. Neeraj Pandey decided to put everything in the movie except the climax. I’d rather watch paint dry.

Did anybody understand why Mangesh Desai was implicated by Jaswinder? Tbh by the end of the film, I had lost interest in the heist so wasn’t really paying attention but want to know if that is addressed at any point?

This movie reminded me of Auron Main Kahan Dum Tha in terms of the vibe, and the fact that both movies involve Jimmy Shergill having a drink with a convict who is back in Mumbai after a long time and telling their stories to each other. This movie was better than Auron Main though, and I liked the open ending. The heist was much easier than expected for a major diamond robbery though.

It had a vibe you cannot explain. Just like Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, except it had a better pace and intrigue.

I LOVED this film. But it is a slow burn. If you are the kind who gets impatient real quick this is not for you. But I personally really enjoyed all the plot twists. Hooked until the end or "oops" the end. P.S. I hope this proves to be a game changer for Avinash Tiwary

Jimmy shergill’s makeup was so badly done. Just to show him younger (before and after 15 years) , they literally caked him with foundation 😭. Movie overall was a good one time watch. Loved tamanna and Avinash although I wished Avinash could have added a li’ll suave to his performance during the final act.

This is probably last film of salman khan having a fit body for lead action role .I don-t think he can stay this fit and maintain his physique anymore he is already 59 and did a rib surgery last year so it-s very difficult to do heavy workout for him, The only thing I am Happy about is that he is finally doing a film with a good director after a decade,.

Rashmika is a nice looking girl, and I was excited to see her paired with Salman. However, I couldn-t help but feel that she seemed out of place in the song. Her dancing didn-t come across as effortless or graceful, and she lacked the ada and nakhra that would have elevated the performance. Perhaps she was intimidated by Salman or hadn-t yet developed a rapport with her co-star. I hope their chemistry improved in the movie. It-s amusing how the song focuses on the women, but all eyes are inevitably on Salman - and rightly so! He-s looking absolutely stunning 😍. They should have made a song showcasing his beauty instead. Salman-s aura is incredibly powerful, and his co-actresses need to be chosen carefully. In my opinion, Katrina is the only actress from the current crop who has great chemistry with him. I recall Farah Khan commented on how Katrina was all decked up and looking lovely in "Dil Diyan Gallan," but when Salman entered the scene, all attention shifted to him 🔥❤️😍. The song has definitely generated excitement for the movie. I-d rate it 4/5 - a great start!

The only thing I never get tired of being mad about. Is that nowadays in Bollywood films they layer like 3 different singers for one person in the song. It-s something I started noticing from Raees days with Sonu Nigams song. And it gets to a point where you can-t hear the singers unique voice anymore, it just sounds like a bunch of random people at once. For example I didn-t even know it was Shaan singing this until I read the credits.

I am hoping that this one and other songs from Sikandar grow on me like Yentamma Yentamma and Bhilli Bhilli did. I didn-t love those at first & then over time Yentamma Yentamma for example became my favourite party song of the last 2 years. And I-m not alone they hit the top of the charts on many platforms so a lot of people like them.

Ok I-m all about cricket growing worldwide, but I absolutely hate the fact that cricket is one of the most imbalanced sport in the world. Particularly in these 3 things: 1. Skills wise: Zimbabwe and Kenya, especially Zimbabwe as a team is levels above the other teams competing in this tournament. So 344/4 is doable. Still an insane record nonetheless. 2. Players wise: You see new teams representing cricket every few years but most of them are just expats from South Asia. So basically the native players are still not as interested in it as one would expect. 3. Fanbase wise: Cricket is heavily popular in South Asia meanwhile most fans from other countries don-t even care as much about it. It just takes the fun out of it sometimes. Anyways, these are some points that bother me. I just wish it was more balanced overall.

Although your latest flick, Sikandar ka Muqaddar (SKM) released on Netflix, the less than favorable reviews of the movie took me by surprise. Especially the suspense thriller genre being your USP, this was even more surprising. I watch the movie yesterday and I was quite disappointed with how it was. I have been a fan of your movies ever since your debut movie, A Wednesday released 16 years ago. In fact, the protagonists of your movies have this quiet confidence, a larger than life goal that almost seems impossible to achieve and enough chutzpah to see the goal through, no matter what. Further, your protagonists have control of their lives. In fact, you were the perfect guy to direct the MS Dhoni biopic because he is a real life interpretation of your character. and you did a fantastic job of writing and directing the movie. Which is what appalled me when I watched SKM, because the protagonist, Sikandar is nothing like your previous protagonists. In fact, the dude almost broke down when I.O. Jaswinder Singh interrogated him in public, it became so obvious to the viewer who the culprit is. On the off chance someone missed it, the camera is fixated on his face for more than half the movie that the viewer knows it could be no one else. Whatever happened to Accused #1 though? Accused #2, despite being shown having shades of grey doesn-t really go anywhere. The I.O Jaswinder Singh who reminds the viewer multiple times he has a 100% record of solving cases, doesn-t bother to investigate the friends and family of Sikandar, one of whom had the answer. Isn-t this basic investigation, despite the I.O. claiming he has solid instincts? I don-t even understand how did the character of Tabassum appear and abruptly disappear without contributing anything to the plot. Every character in your movies contribute to the plot in a significant way. This was not the case. and the character of I.O. -s wife appears and disappears. Both the protagonists (assuming even the I.O. is a protagonist) are loud, clueless to a fault and lack control of themselves. In fact, how the story ends becomes so painfully obvious, despite a promising start to the plot : When the I.O. openly says to the 3 accuseds that he knows the culprits are either one or all of them, I believed this was a classic Neeraj Pandey thriller but then it all went downhill. I am not quite sure what the cliffhanger is for, or if there was even one. Pandeyji, you-re one of the rare writer director in Bollywood who not only has an history of giving movies with solid plots than can be watched by the whole family but your movies have en enormous recall value as well. I urge you to please continue making such movies. We the audiences are extremely grateful that you have shared your talent with us which is why MKS disappointed me so much, personally speaking. So I have a theory, a director is almost always limited by the writing or rather the writing defines the possibility of the outcome which a director can try and salvage but might not always succeed. In this case if the director himself is writing it, then the chance of being blind sided with what is being built increases. Not to say others have succeeded with writing and directing several gems, this is just my theory. However in the curious case of Neeraj Pandey, it feels like he-s lost the touch (and I hope it-s for the time being) and that the way the movie was setup, as some others said, it was obvious Sikandar did it and that it was a matter of time before we knew how he did it. And the When and How having been explored I was hoping for a major reason explaining the Why, like if you-ll remember Baazigar, we know SRK-s character is doing bad things but we root for him secretly hoping that his motive is not that evil and the Why in that films resets our belief in the character, even making us forgive all the crimes he did. In SKM, had there been an appealing cause to why he did it, it would IMO made us forgive the overall slow track of the film, as with this genre, the end justifies the means. Sadly the end was such a hodge podge, and then they throw another cliffhanger, leaving you with a sour taste of having wasted the time invested in the story.

Amazing pictures. I wonder what Liaqat and Jinnah’s working relationship was after independence. Jinnah told his sister Liaqat’s visit at one point, was to see how much time Jinnah had to live. One person suggested they weren’t on good talking terms, I’m not sure if that’s the case. There do seem to be some disagreements, like Jinnah wanting to press on with the Kashmir resistance in 1948, and Liaqat choosing to lean towards UN resolutions that promised to help.

So, by using the power of Internet I watched this movie and I can say that Every Indian needs to watch this movie. Let-s talk about the story first. The story takes place in a fictional city Yatana. Where there-s a manipulating Baba and his disciples who practically run the Country. Our hero, also one of their victims, wants vengeance. I won-t spoil anything for you. Now, the technical aspects. The action is the movie-s highlight. The long takes, The brutality everything is very good. The Cinematography is beautiful. The CGI is very good for a movie made in just 10 million dollars i.e. 83 cr approx. The acting in the movie was very good. Especially Dev Patel. Even not for a second I thought that this guy is Britsh. Sobhita, Sikandar, Makrand all did their part very well. Now the important part. "Why didn-t this movie get a release in India?" This movie has Hollywood R-rated violence. But so did animal. This movie has quite graphic sexual scenes. Most importantly, this movie talks against the people in power, which could have impact elections. But that was a very small chance. And there was nothing religiously wrong with the movie. Hanumanji is described perfectly. There was no chance for a controversy on that part. Only problems were Censor Board and the Politics of movie. I loved the movie. I think it should have got a release in India. What do you all think?

I didn’t like the movie that much… the genre and theme are too clichéd. Even the Indian cultural aspects are clearly from the lens of Western viewers that see India as a land of poor slum dwellers who visit brothels situated in dingy alleys while spitting paan everywhere. I don’t think Dev Patel has gotten over his Slumdog Millionaire success. This seems like a poor attempt to recreate that same magic — but the difference here is that the story is abysmally poor whereas Slumdog at least had a good plot and well written characters.

The movie is good, I saw it here in US, more white people saw it than Indians and were really impressed. Most of my friends who are Americans loved the cultural background and fight scenes. I don-t understand why the censor board is so shit. If you are being told that the issue is religion, then no. The movie-s main villain is associated with products that are harmful and the capture of a land. I won-t go further since that would reveal the background story. But the main theme is to fight corruption. And trust me, this movie shows corruption up and front.

I first heard about this law back in 1982-83 during the famous Aus vs Eng Ashes Test at the MCG where Border and Thomson had to put on 74 for the last wicket to win the game and history shows they finished up 3 runs short. At one stage it was late in the over and Border hit one towards the boundary hoping to run 3 and keep the strike. I remember David Gower trotting after the ball and letting it roll into the gutter to keep him off strike. A comment (by a sport columnist) was made the next day that it could have been a penalty of 4 runs to Aus and they would-ve won. The commenter conceded that Gower didn-t assist the ball into the boundary though which would have been a penalty.

I-ve said it before but I think in circumstances like this the boundary should be awarded as over throws. If a player has attempted to hit a single and successfully failed to have the ball reach the Boundary then that should be that.

No one can match Bhaijaan-s vulnerability in emotional scenes and charm on screen. His silent crying and watery eyes show that he-s a great actor. However, nowadays, some people make fun of him for his recent works. He really needs to make a strong comeback with Sikandar on Eid 2025. We don-t want Salman Khan to just go through the motions in his movies; we want him to put effort into his craft!!!

This emotional touch is what-s missing in his movies these days. Dabangg, Kick, BB, Sultan, TZH all these movies had this emotional relatability. That-s why people loved these movies. Now his movies just seem like a collage of different scenes put together. It doesn-t help that he works with directors like Remo, Prabhudeva and Farhad.

When it comes to crying he’s a natural, and probably the best/most convincing. See his earlier movies too.

I recently learned that Alexander became Skander in Arabic because they Al is a definite article in Arabic and this made Alexander-> Aleksander into Ale eksander and subsequently s and k got switched and finally it became Skander but what about ‘Sikandar’ which to my knowledge is used as a word synonymous to a ‘champ’ in the subcontinent. Did it get changed from Alexander too, if so, how?

Firstly, as you said, Alexander changed to Al-Iskandar, because the *al-* was considered a definite article and the shape of the name changed to fit Arabic phonotactics. This Arabic form spread to Persia after the Arab conquests. Since *al-* was considered a definite article, and Persian didn-t have a definite article, the name was loaned as Iskandar. And this name was then spread to the subcontinent. It had two forms: Iskandar and Sikandar, the latter was the metathesized Indian version. Both were used in the subcontinent, for example, the first president of Pakistan was Iskandar Mirza. But ultimately, Sikandar became the dominant version of the name in the subcontinent.

You pretty much laid out the process right in your OP. Just insert a vowel to break up a disallowed or dis-preferred consonant cluster and slightly change the final vowel.

I remember it very well.Really Funny show. Used to air back in Mid-Late 2008 on Cartoon Network.

CN India f#cked up the title of this show. The OG title of this show was "My gym partner is a Monkey", there was no problem for CN India to use the same title. Not only this show, but "The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy" was named "Billy Mandy aur life me Haddi" and later re-booted by the name "Haddi Mera Buddy" 🤮, WHY? JUST USE THE GOD DAMN OG NAMES. I am saying this because some period of my childhood too place in USA, so I have experienced the Children shows of USA as well as India. CN India executed most of the shows perfectly, in fact some like "Ed, Edd n Eddy", were more better in Hindi dub in India than the OG, but some shows were garbage as the Hindi dub and titles f#cked up the shows.

I actually want to know the names of shows like this. as i forgot most of the shows name but I can remember the visuals still today in memory

I remember an episode where they take a test, and it determines what career they-d go for. The "bandar" wanted to be an underwear model, but couldn-t as per the test. There was a sequence of sad scenes. I don-t know what the original song would have been, but in the Hindi version of was "Chhan se jo tuta koi sapna" from Om Shanti Om. It was synced up so well with the scene. There was a scene where the chimp was crying and they synced it up with the high note from the song. It was perfect.

There-s one thing I noticed in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. The original movie had only 1 friend character of the hero who was sharing hero-s story to his brothers. In Salman-s remake, that character was divided in three friends who were all old supporting actors who used to have bigger roles in 90s. Pretty sure Salman made those characters to give them a job.
